Adjete George Friday is a youth social worker and a Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) champion. George believes in a just and peaceful society. He advances the SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). The vibrant Adjete won the prestigious Millenium Fellowship in the year 2019. As a fellow, he leads the “End Rape Initiative” – a program targeted at empowering a minimum of 300 youths against sexual predators. Honoured as the Campus Director of the United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Fellowship, George instituted the membership of Lagos State University (LASU) in the program, through a competitive selection (69 out of 1,209 campuses across 135 nations worldwide).
George is an Ex-Lagos State Youth ambassador (affiliated to the Lagos State Youth Parliament) and an alumnus of The ÎBÍLÈ Youth Academy (IYA). He is the Founder of Youths Light of The World Initiative (Y.L.O.W) – an educational initiative that provides youths with employability and leadership skills. In April 2020, members of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) elected George as the General Secretary of the Lagos Chapter. Friday is a distinguished undergraduate of the reputable Lagos State University (LASU). He studies Diplomacy and International Relations. George is a Student Union Leader and Parliamentarian.
As the General Secretary of F.Y.L, George handles the correspondences and corporate communication. He also leverages his position to mentor teenagers on leading a successful life on campus. Adjete George is gregarious. He finds reading and traveling enjoyable.
