Foundation for Aspiring Youths in Ethical Leadership

Alejo Samiat (Samya) Abiola

Alejo Samiat (Samya) Abiola is an environmental chemist, a natural leader and sociopreneur. She is a graduate of the University of Lagos (B.Sc. Chemistry and M.Sc. Environmental Chemistry). Her leadership trait is innate as she has served responsibly, in different capacities, from childhood.

She served as the Corps Liaison Officer during her National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC) at Imeko-Afon Local Government Area, Ogun state for 11 months. This period marked her foray into youth development: Samya initiated in- and after-school mentorship programs to instil sound leadership values in youths (particularly among secondary students, aged 12 – 19 years) of the local government.

Samiat is currently working at University of Lagos, Department of Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry Research Laboratory as a Graduate Research Assistant. Due to her vast knowledge of the different environmental matrices and issues, she recommends solutions to curbing environmental pollution around us.

As the president of the Foundation for Aspiring Youths in Ethical Leadership, Alejo oversees the executive affairs of the organisation. Her drive and zest to lead the organisation in achieving her vision—by incubating greatness into the lives of young ones—is unflinching, pervasive, enviable and great. She is always happy to teach and mentor youths on ethical leadership and good governance.
